The Potamkin family, in partnership with the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and American Brain Foundation (ABF), would like to congratulate Kenneth Kosik, MA, MD, and Giovanna Mallucci, MD, PhD this year’s recipients of The Potamkin Prize. Kenneth Kosik, MA, MD is the Harriman Distinguished Professor of Neuroscience at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Giovanna Mallucci, MD, PhD is the van Geest Professor of Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, UK and the Center Director of the UK Dementia Research Institute at Cambridge. The Potamkin Prize selection committee said that they chose to award the Prize to two recipients this year based on their equally compelling research and accomplishments.

The Potamkin Prize recognizes the achievements of scientific researchers who advance the diagnosis, management, and search for a cure for Pick’s, Alzheimer’s and related brain degenerative diseases. The award consists of $100,000, an emblematic medallion, and opportunities to share their research and findings.
